His Beatitude Patriarch John X met a group of judges from Damascus and its countryside, in the halls of the Church of the Holy Cross.

During the meeting, many important and pivotal issues were discussed at this stage, with emphasis on the fact that the constitution is the guarantor of a pluralistic civil state, not on the basis of the principle of protecting majorities and minorities, but on the basis of protecting the structure of the country itself, its pluralism and its necessary competencies to lead the country towards progress. The attendees also stressed that judiciary power is fundamental in the country and a basic pillar for building a state of justice and law that guarantees true and pragmatic freedom. An important discussion took place on future aspects and aspirations, especially the mechanisms for drafting the country's intended constitution where Christians, with all components of the country, participate in its full production, not being limited to Christian affairs and canon laws. Christian and Muslim should preserve citizenship in this country where people have always wanted to lead quality lives.
